The Journey
A century ago the wealth of this coast lay on the seabed, and men held their breath in the dark to bring it up. We tell that story properly: the dhows, the divers’ songs, the merchants of Bahrain, and the great natural pearls that crowned the courts of Europe.
You sail the old banks with the last of the families who dived them, visit the vaults of a master pearl merchant, and end on a private island where a single natural Gulf pearl — rarer now than any diamond — is presented for your family to keep.
